These stories, based on or related to, folk tales from around the world are fascinating. Some are very close to the original story I remember, and others are totally updated / reworked. Some are in play format, and one is a police report, and many will be by your favorite authors.

I was really excited to read this and then got the book. There are several stories that I thoroughly enjoyed, but sadly even more that I struggled to get through. Some of the contributions seemed overly pretentious to me, while the minority actually held my interest. I love fairy tales, old and new, but this collection just didn't live up to my expectations.
